Installed SCSI CD-ROM drive does not work due to device error 28.
Error:
Device error 28
Cause:
Device error number 28 occurred, SCSI controller was not fully installed.
Solution:
Reinstall the CD-ROM drive device driver, and restart Windows 95.
1) Open the 'Device Manager'.

2) Select the 'View devices by type' radio button, and double-click on 'SCSI controllers' in the 'View devices by type' list box.
3) Select the SCSI controller driver and click 'Remove'. (The 'Confirm Device Removal' dialog box appears.)

4) Click 'OK'. (The 'Restart the Computer' dialog box appears)
5) Click 'Yes'.
6) After the computer has restarted, open the 'Add New Hardware' icon.

7) Select the 'No' radio button and click 'Next'.

8) Double-click on the appropriate device type in the 'Hardware types' list box.
9) Select the device manufacturer from the 'Manufacturers' list box, and then select the device model from 'Models' list box.
10) If you are installing the device with drivers supplied from the manufacturer, click 'Have Disk...' and follow the manufacturer's instructions.

11) If you are installing the device with drivers supplied with Windows 95, click 'Next'.

NOTE: You must have access to the CD-ROM through your local network.
12) Select the appropriate resources (i.e. IRQ, DMA, and I/O addresses) for the device driver, and click 'Next'.
CAUTION: Please refer to the device's installation manual before assigning resources for the driver. Incorrectly assigning resources to a driver may cause conflicts with other devices.
13) Click 'Finish'.

14) Click 'Yes' to restart the computer.
